Phil Schultz

Captain Phil Schultz was a TWA pilot and former U.S. Navy fighter pilot from the Korean War era. In the summer of 1981, while piloting TWA Flight 842 from San Francisco to JFK Airport over Lake Michigan, he encountered a large, round, silver metallic UFO. The object was described as disc-shaped with six jet-black portholes and approached so close that he and his copilot braced for impact. The object then made a sharp high-speed turn before departing, with its speed calculated at approximately 1,000 mph by Haines.
