Ray Bowyer

Ray Bowyer is a British airline pilot with over 18 years of flying experience. On April 23, 2007, he was piloting an Aurigny Air Services flight from Southampton to Alderney in the English Channel when he observed two bright yellow objects described as flat disc-shaped and estimated to be up to a mile wide. The objects were stationary and clearly visible for approximately nine minutes. Bowyer initially thought the light was a reflection from greenhouses on Guernsey, but ruled this out upon closer inspection with binoculars. A second object appeared, moving in formation with the first, and passengers on the aircraft confirmed the sighting independently.

Bowyer filed an official report with Britain's Civil Aviation Authority. Radar data showed an unknown return in the area, though air traffic control noted only faint radar contact. A second pilot near Sark also confirmed seeing similar objects. The sighting was widely reported in British media and investigated by aviation authorities.

The incident is considered one of the most credible pilot UAP sightings of the 21st century. Its credibility rests on multiple independent witnesses, radar confirmation, and Bowyer's professional standing as an experienced commercial pilot. Proposed explanations have included earthquake lights and sun dogs, though the sighting remains unexplained by official investigations.
