Witness
Robert C. Gardner was an American UFO researcher active during the 1950s. His UFO interest began in 1949 after reading about the subject. Gardner personally investigated UFO cases in California, including the Brush Creek Saucer series of close encounters in 1953. He became known for circulating claims about extraterrestrial visitors, including statements that aliens were small, smelly, and greenish in color, and that a 27-inch-tall being was captured near Mexico City in 1950. Gardner lectured extensively on UFO topics throughout the 1950s, speaking on subjects including the spiritual aspects of UFO phenomena. He also circulated the Silverman 'Martian' photograph and continued his UFO advocacy work through at least 1960.
