Robert Dean
Robert Orel Dean (March 2, 1929 – October 11, 2018) was an American ufologist from Tucson, Arizona, and a retired U.S. Army Command Sergeant Major with 28 years of service. He served as an intelligence analyst at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), NATO, where he held 'Cosmic Top Secret' clearance. Dean claimed to have accessed a classified document called 'The Assessment' in 1964, which allegedly discussed alien threats to Earth and concluded no military threat existed. He became a prominent figure in UFO research, appearing on radio programs, TV documentaries, and at conferences for over 40 years, advocating for government disclosure of extraterrestrial contact. In 1992, he sued Pima County, Arizona for employment discrimination related to his UFO beliefs and age, reportedly settling for $100,000.
