Ryan Graves is a U.S. Navy veteran and former F-18 fighter pilot from Massachusetts, recognized as the first active-duty pilot to publicly disclose routine Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) sightings encountered by his squadron, the Red Rippers, starting in 2014 off the U.S. East Coast. These objects exhibited extraordinary capabilities, accelerating to Mach 1, resisting hurricane-force winds, and outlasting fighter jets, detected via upgraded radar systems. Graves testified before Congress in 2023, emphasizing UAP as a national security, aerospace safety, and scientific issue, featured in 60 Minutes, The New York Times, and Joe Rogan. He founded Americans for Safe Aerospace, the first military pilot-led nonprofit advocating UAP reporting, and chairs the AIAA UAP Integration & Outreach Committee.
