Stan Gordon
Stan Gordon is an American UFO and anomalous phenomena researcher who has been investigating sightings in Pennsylvania since 1959, making him one of the longest-active UFO field investigators in the United States. He first developed an interest in UFOs at age ten in 1959 and commenced field investigations in 1965. A lifelong resident of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Gordon trained as an electronics technician specializing in radio communications.
Gordon has investigated thousands of UAP sightings and anomalous events across western Pennsylvania, maintaining one of the most comprehensive regional case databases in American ufology. Throughout his career, he has documented military personnel arriving quickly to cordon off areas. In 1969, he established a UFO hot-line, and in 1970 he founded the Westmoreland County UFO Study Group. He also served as Pennsylvania State Director for MUFON.
He is best known for his investigation of the December 9, 1965 Kecksburg incident, in which a large fireball was observed across multiple states before an object reportedly crashed in the woods near Kecksburg, Pennsylvania. Witnesses described the object as acorn-shaped, and it was reportedly removed on a flatbed truck. As the primary investigator of the Kecksburg UFO crash-recovery, Gordon spent decades interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence, and he produced a documentary on the incident.
