Strom Thurmond

Strom Thurmond (1902-2003) was an American politician, serving as U.S. Senator from South Carolina from 1954 to 2003. A World War II veteran and former aide to Thurmond, Col. Philip J. Corso included Thurmond's foreword in his 1997 book The Day After Roswell, claiming U.S. reverse-engineering of alien technology from the 1947 Roswell crash. Thurmond had agreed to write it believing it was Corso's autobiography, praising his expertise in military intelligence and national security. Upon discovering the UFO content, Thurmond disavowed it, demanding removal from future editions and denying any government UFO cover-up.
