Ulf Leonhardt
Ulf Leonhardt is a German theoretical physicist and professor at the University of St Andrews, UK, and the National University of Singapore. He is a leading expert in quantum optics and metamaterials, known for pioneering theoretical work on invisibility cloaking devices based on manipulating light through quantum physics principles. Leonhardt has been publishing on invisibility cloaking since 2006 and collaborated with Sir John Pendry on the theoretical concept of invisibility devices. He authored the study 'Invisibility Cloaking' funded by the U.S. Department of Defense's Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), which investigated unidentified aerial phenomena. His research combines astrophysics, quantum science, and thermodynamics, including work on artificial black holes and Hawking radiation in optical fibers.
