Anamaria Berea
Anamaria Berea is a Romanian-American associate professor of Computational and Data Science at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She serves as a research affiliate with the SETI Institute and a research investigator with the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science. Her expertise focuses on data science applications in astrobiology, studying biosignatures, technosignatures, and communication emergence in complex systems. A key achievement in UAP research is her appointment to NASA's Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) Independent Study Team in 2023, analyzing UAP data scientifically. She is also Deputy Project Scientist for the Vera C. Rubin Observatory's Legacy Survey of Space and Time. Berea has authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers and received the Department of Energyβs Innovative Development in Energy-Related Applied Science grant. She discussed UAP and Mars settlements in podcasts.
