David Sarnoff (1891-1971)
Russian-born American businessman and chairman of RCA (Radio Corporation of America). A pioneer in radio and television broadcasting, Sarnoff also served as a brigadier general during WWII. In August 1946, he accompanied General James Doolittle to Stockholm to investigate the Scandinavian ghost rocket phenomenon. As one of the world's leading electronics experts, his presence suggested the U.S. government took the ghost rockets seriously enough to send top-tier technical talent — though both men claimed to be acting as private citizens.
