Condon Committee

David R. Saunders

American psychologist and statistician who served as a principal investigator on the Condon Committee (University of Colorado UFO Project, 1966-1968). Saunders became a key figure in the internal revolt against Edward Condon and project coordinator Robert Low.

After discovering the Low Memo β€” which revealed the project's predetermined negative conclusion β€” Saunders became a whistleblower. On September 27, 1967, he helped organize a secret meeting of staff members (without Condon or Low) to discuss potential mass resignation. He was later fired from the project and co-authored 'UFOs? Yes!' (1968), exposing the Condon Committee's internal dysfunction.
