Gary Cason

Gary Cason is the Deputy Director of the Department of the Navy's FOIA/PA Program Office. In 2022, he authored official responses denying Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for additional U.S. Navy UAP/UFO videos beyond the three previously leaked Pentagon videos (FLIR, GIMBAL, GOFAST). Cason stated that all such videos are classified under exemption (b)(1) per Executive Order 13526 and the UAP Security Classification Guide, as their release would harm national security by revealing DoD/Navy operations, vulnerabilities, and capabilities. He distinguished the denied videos from the public ones, noting the latter's prior unofficial disclosure and extensive media coverage allowed their official release without further damage. No portions could be segregated for partial release. His letters, revealed via The Black Vault's FOIA pursuits, confirmed the Navy's possession of further UAP footage while upholding secrecy in military UAP investigations.
