John von Neumann was identified by Dr. Robert Sarbacher as a scientist who confirmed crash retrieval information. He was mentioned in connection with the Smith-Sarbacher document. He was a Hungarian and American mathematician, physicist, computer scientist and engineer (1903–1957). During World War II, he worked on the Manhattan Project and developed the mathematical models behind the explosive lenses used in the implosion-type nuclear weapon. He was a member of the United States Atomic Energy Commission from March 15, 1955 until his death on February 8, 1957.
