Kathleen Marden
Kathleen Marden, a U.S. researcher and author born around 1948, is the niece of Betty and Barney Hill, whose 1961 UFO abduction in New Hampshire's White Mountains sparked her lifelong interest in the phenomenon at age 13. Holding a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of New Hampshire (1971), she entered UFO research in 1991 with MUFON, advancing to state section director and later serving as international director of abduction research and director of field investigator training. Key achievements include her exhaustive investigation of the Hill case, culminating in the book 'Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience' (2007, co-authored with Stanton T. Friedman), establishing archival files at UNH's Milne Library, and developing a New Hampshire historical marker. She co-authored 'Science Was Wrong' and 'The Alien Abduction Files,' contributed to studies on nearly 5,000 experiencers (Marden-Stoner, FREE, MUFON ERT), and earned hypnotherapy/QHHT certifications. MUFON awarded her Researcher of the Year (2012) and she received the International UFO Congress Lifetime Achievement Award (2021).
