Lena Sarokina (also spelled Sorokina), a fifth-grade schoolgirl from Novovoronezhsk, Russia, was a key child witness in the famous 1989 Voronezh UFO incident. On October 2, 1989, she and other children, including Vasya Surin, Julia Sholokhova, Alyosha Nikonov, and Vova Startsev, reportedly observed a large spherical UFO land in a public park in Voronezh. Humanoids emerged from the craft, interacted with the witnesses, and one allegedly made a boy's pistol vanish. The event drew adult observers (35-40 at a bus stop) and military personnel like Lt. Sergei Matveyev, who saw the craft. Investigated by the Voronezh UFO Research Group (Genrih Silanov et al.), it was publicized by TASS under glasnost. No physical anomalies were confirmed, and child testimonies faced skepticism for inconsistencies.
