Thomas E. Reed
Thom Reed (born c. 1960) is an American UFO researcher and witness known for documenting the September 1, 1969 Berkshires UFO incident in Massachusetts. At age 9, Reed experienced a close encounter near Great Barrington with his family, during which their vehicle was engulfed in amber light. Reed has reported three separate UFO encounters (1966, 1967, and 1969) and passed a 1910 polygraph test at 99.1% accuracy regarding his accounts. In 2015, Massachusetts Governor Charles Baker officially recognized the Reed family incident as historically true, marking the first U.S. government acknowledgment of a UFO encounter as factual. Reed established the Thom Reed UFO Monument Park in Sheffield, Massachusetts, and has been featured in Netflix's Unsolved Mysteries, Ancient Aliens, and other documentaries. His case was presented at the United Nations 1992 Symposium on Extraterrestrial Intelligence.
