Ohio: F-51 Pilot Chased by White UFO
Capt. Harry Roe Jr. encountered a round white object trailing his F-51 fighter near Columbus, Ohio. Radar confirmed it, but interceptors found nothing.

Am 23. Juni 1954 gegen 20:00 oder 21:00 Uhr beobachtete Capt. Harry Roe Jr., Pilot einer Ohio Air National Guard F-51 Mustang, bei 240 mph auf dem Flug von Dayton nach Columbus ein rundes weißes Objekt. Es folgte ihm eng, etwas höher und hinten positioniert, ohne Abgase, möglicherweise auf Radar erfasst. Roe versuchte Ausweichmanöver oder Kollision, doch das Objekt blieb in ähnlicher Lage, bis es southeast verschwand.
Radar- und Abfangbestätigung
S/Sgt. Maynard Harris auf Wright-Patterson AFB ortete Flugzeug und Objekt. Zwei F-86 aus Columbus starteten, sahen jedoch nichts. Um 22:00 Uhr sahen Maj. Frank J. Gshwandtner und 2nd Lt. Robert P. Lommori in einem RB-47E bei 25.000 Fuß ein weißes Objekt baseballgroß, das extrem schnell drehte, leicht kletterte und in 30 Sekunden verschwand.
