Background

Sighting Details Edwin Fuhr, a 36-year-old farmer, was operating a swather to harvest rapeseed near Langenburg, Saskatchewan on September 1, 1974, around 11:00 a.m. when he noticed a metallic, dome-shaped object approximately 50 feet away. Upon investigation, he observed it spinning and swirling vegetation beneath it. Frightened, he retreated and observed four additional identical objects arranged in a semicircle, each hovering about one foot above ground with a brushed stainless steel appearance.

Electromagnetic Effects When Fuhr attempted to return to his swather, the throttle and steering wheel became unresponsive, preventing operation. One object suddenly ascended, followed by the remaining four in step formation. At approximately 200 feet altitude, each emitted gray vapor from base extensions, accompanied by downward wind gusts that flattened the surrounding rapeseed.

Physical Evidence The objects formed a straight line, hovered briefly, then ascended into low cloud cover and vanished. Fuhr discovered five rings of depressed grass arranged in clockwise patterns at the landing site, with no evidence of heat or burning. Additional circles were found in the area later that month. Nearby cattle exhibited distressed behavior, breaking through fencing during the incident.

Investigation RCMP Constable Ron Morier confirmed the sighting's authenticity, stating the objects "came out of the air and departed the same way." No evidence suggested hoaxing or mechanical creation of the circles.
