Edwin Fuhr
Edwin Fuhr is a Canadian farmer from Langenburg, Saskatchewan, best known for reporting one of Canada's most significant UFO sightings on September 1, 1974. At age 36, while swathing his canola field, Fuhr claimed to witness five metallic, saucer-shaped objects hovering approximately one foot above the ground near a slough. He observed the objects rotating rapidly and emitting grey vapor before they silently ascended into the sky. The incident left five circular imprints in the grass that were investigated by the RCMP and tested by the federal government, though no conclusive explanation was reached. Classified as a close encounter of the second kind, the Langenburg event became a landmark case in Canadian UFO research and drew international attention. Fuhr retired from farming in 1989 and continued to reside in Langenburg. In 2024, the Royal Canadian Mint commemorated the event with a special commemorative coin.
