Operation Saucer: Brazilian Air Force Investigates UFOs in Amazon

In 1977, the Brazilian Air Force conducted an extensive military investigation of UFOs in the Amazon region of Brazil, code-named Operation Saucer (Operação Prato). This operation is part of the Brazilian Air Force's UFO files that were gradually declassified starting in 2008-2009.

Investigation The investigation encompassed more than 4,000 pages of documents, photos, and drawings covering cases from the 1950s through the 1980s.

Declassification The release was facilitated by A.J. Gevaerd, coordinator of the Brazilian Committee of UFO Researchers.
