A.J. Gevaerd
Ademar José Gevaerd (1962-2022), known as A.J. Gevaerd, was a prominent Brazilian ufologist. Born on March 19, 1962, he abandoned his career as a chemistry teacher in 1986 to dedicate himself full-time to UFO research. He founded and edited Revista UFO magazine in 1988, which circulated 30,000 copies monthly, and established the Brazilian Center for Flying Saucer Research (CBPDV) with over 3,300 members. As Brazilian Director for MUFON and CUFOS representative, he organized events like the World UFO Forum and published numerous UFO books. Gevaerd advocated for disclosure, pressuring Brazil's military to release files on cases like Operation Saucer (1977), Varginha Incident, and 1954-1986 sightings. He disclosed Colonel Uyrangê Hollanda's testimony on Amazon UFO probes and interviewed military personnel. A key figure in South American ufology, he elevated Brazil's global prominence until his death on December 9, 2022.
