Ademar José Gevaerd
Ademar José Gevaerd (19 March 1962 – 9 December 2022) was a Brazilian ufologist and one of the most respected researchers in the field. He founded and directed the Brazilian Center for Flying Saucer Research (CBPDV), the largest organization of its type in South America, and served as Brazilian Director for the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON). Gevaerd was editor of Revista UFO magazine, which he launched in 1988 and maintained for over 30 years with a circulation of 30,000. He abandoned his career as a chemistry teacher in 1986 to pursue ufology full-time and conducted over 700 field investigations of UFO cases in Brazil. He played a crucial role in bringing Operation Saucer, a secret Brazilian Air Force UFO research project, to public attention and was instrumental in Brazil's official military UFO disclosure in 2009. Gevaerd represented Brazil at the Center for UFO Studies and was a founding member of the International Coalition for Extraterrestrial Research.
