Jose Carlos Pereira

He served as a four-star Brigadier General and stands as the highest-ranked Brazilian official to speak publicly about UFOs. From 1999 to 2001, he commanded the Brazilian Airspace Defense Command (COMDABRA), and he subsequently served as General Commander of Air Force Operations until 2005, supervising 13 generals and 27,000 personnel. Earlier in his career, he commanded several air bases and the Brazilian Air Force Academy.

During his command, he confirmed that the military conducted two to three intercept missions per year against unknown radar targets. He contributed a first-person chapter to Leslie Kean's book describing the 1986 "Official UFO Night," and he documented Brazilian military UFO investigation procedures.
