Brazilian Airspace Defense Command
COMDABRA, the Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command (Comando da Defesa Aeroespacial Brasileiro), is a Brazilian government military organization established around 1989. It assumed responsibility for UFO investigations from earlier Air Force initiatives, such as the 1978 UFO Registry and Evaluation Commission ordered by the Minister of the Air Force. Key activities included managing UFO reports from regional air commands (e.g., CINDACTA), civilian ufologists, the Navy, and Presidency, as well as archiving and evaluating sightings. Notable achievements encompass handling declassified documents from the 1950s to 2010, including cases like the 1986 Official UFO Night with 21 objects chased by FAB jets, and contributions to public releases at the National Archives in BrasΓlia. Its current status is inactive, with UFO-related duties transferred back to the Air Force (FAB) by 2009-2010, following declassification orders by Brigadier Juniti Saito.
