In 2000, pilots of a Chilean Army plane observed a large cigar-shaped gray object south of Santiago. The sighting was confirmed by radar. The Aviation Branch of the Chilean Army (BAVE) cooperated with CEFAA in the investigation. Rodrigo Bravo Garrido, a BAVE officer and helicopter pilot, contributed to the research.
