The Chilean Army, founded in 1810 as the land branch of Chile's armed forces, is a government military organization. In UAP/UFO research, it investigated a 1998 crash-like incident at Las Mollacas Hill, resembling Roswell, involving witnesses and NASA envoys who later requested halting information release. While CEFAA, established in 1997 under the Chilean Air Force and DGAC, leads official UAP studies—including declassifying a 2014 Navy helicopter video of an unidentified object—the Army contributed to early empirical efforts. Notable achievements include on-site probes into anomalous events amid Chile's high sighting density. Currently active, it supports national defense without a dedicated UAP program.
