FOIA: Partial AATIP records released via case 21-F-0938

The Department of Defense released initial responsive documents from FOIA case 21-F-0938, including Elizondo's June 2019 email to Pentagon Public Affairs. However, critical attachments demonstrating his program involvement were inexplicably omitted from the disclosure. Via TheBlackVault.com (FOIA).

Background

In March 2022, the DoD fulfilled a portion of The Black Vault's FOIA request regarding AATIP program records. The release included proof of Elizondo's June 2019 correspondence with Pentagon Public Affairs, likely directed to spokesperson Christopher Sherwood. While the email itself was disclosed, crucial unclassified attachments referenced by Elizondo were not included, nor were they listed as explicitly withheld. This omission sparked a two-year struggle to obtain the complete record, during which Elizondo attempted to provide the attachments personally but discovered his copies had been deleted.
