Christopher Sherwood
Christopher Sherwood is a Pentagon spokesperson who played a significant role in public communications regarding the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) and unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP). In May 2019, Sherwood confirmed to the New York Post that AATIP 'did pursue research and investigation into unidentified aerial phenomena.' However, in June 2019, he told The Intercept that Luis Elizondo 'had no responsibilities with regard to the AATIP program while he worked in OUSDI, up until the time he resigned,' contradicting earlier Pentagon confirmation of Elizondo's leadership role. Sherwood's statements reflected conflicting government accounts regarding officials' involvement in UAP research programs during the period when AATIP officially ended in 2012.
