DoD: Second DOPSR submission approved
The Defense Office granted approval for Grusch's second prepublication review request. This clearance covered additional interview questions for future media appearances. Both submissions ultimately received full authorization for open publication.
Background
On April 6, 2023, the Defense Office of Prepublication and Security Review approved David Grusch's second submission. The rapid one-day turnaround indicates that reviewers found no significant security concerns in the additional material. This approval completed the formal review process for Grusch's planned disclosures.
The second clearance covered future interview questions beyond those approved in the first submission. With both sets of questions authorized, Grusch possessed comprehensive DOPSR clearance for his upcoming whistleblower activities. The approvals specifically authorized open publication without restrictions.
Despite receiving full clearance for both submissions by April 6, 2023, Grusch has not publicly released the complete DOPSR documentation as of September 2023. The Black Vault's FOIA request subsequently revealed these approval dates and internal communications regarding the review process.
