Biden Signs NDAA FY2024 with Partial UAP Disclosure Act
In December 2023, Biden signed the NDAA FY2024 containing surviving portions of the UAP Disclosure Act, directing the National Archives to collect UAP documents.
Background
In late December 2023, President Biden signed the NDAA FY2024 into law containing surviving portions of the UAP Disclosure Act. The law: pulls funding from any UAP activity not approved by appropriate Congressional committees; directs the National Archives to collect government documents about UAP and nonhuman intelligence; requires UAP records to be made public within 25 years unless the president classifies them.
The presidential review board provision was killed by House opposition led by Rep. Mike Turner.
Significance
While weakened, the surviving provisions establish a legal path to eventual disclosure of UAP records held by the government.
