Defence Intelligence refers to the Defence Intelligence Group (DI), the United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence intelligence function, established in 1964 as the Defence Intelligence Staff. It is a government military intelligence organization assessing threats, including aerial phenomena. In UAP/UFO contexts, DI analyzed reports, such as the 2006 Project Condign, which examined ~10,000 UK sightings from 1950s-1990s, attributing most to plasma, misidentifications, or sensor errors; UFO investigations closed in 2009 due to no threat. Key activities involve global intelligence fusion for policy. Notable: Contributed to declassified UFO files released 2008-2013. Currently active, restructured 2010s into Joint Forces Command. No evidence of ongoing UAP programs post-2009.
