Joint Staff

The Joint Staff (JS) is a U.S. government body within the Department of Defense, established in 1947 under the National Security Act to advise the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on military operations. In UAP/UFO research, JS issued a UAP GENADMIN message in May 2023, directing Combatant Commands and Services to report all UAP incidents, enhancing data collection for the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO). Key activities include facilitating standardized reporting and coordination on anomalous phenomena across domains. Notable achievements involve supporting AARO's investigations, which have resolved many cases to prosaic objects like balloons or drones, with no evidence of extraterrestrial technology found. Currently active, JS contributes to ongoing UAP monitoring and analysis efforts amid government transparency pushes.
