The Levelland Police Department is a local government law enforcement agency in Levelland, Texas, USA, serving Hockley County since at least the mid-20th century. In UAP/UFO research, it gained prominence on November 2-3, 1957, receiving 15 excited calls about unidentified objects causing vehicle engines and lights to fail. Officer A.J. Fowler handled initial reports from witnesses like Pedro Saucedo and Joe Salaz. Police, Sheriff Weir Clem, and Fire Chief Ray Jones investigated, personally observing glowing objects. This led to U.S. Air Force Project Blue Book scrutiny, marking it as one of the most credible mass sightings. The department remains active today.
