Navy-led UAP Task Force
The Navy-led Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF) was established on August 4, 2020, by U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense David L. Norquist. Based in the United States, it was a government entity led by the Department of the Navy under the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security. Key activities included detecting, analyzing, and cataloging UAPs to assess potential threats to U.S. national security, focusing on incursions into training ranges and airspace. Notable achievements involved compiling UAP data, primarily from Navy reports, and contributing to the 2021 ODNI Preliminary Assessment on UAP threats. The task force was disestablished in 2022, with its data and responsibilities transferred to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO).
