Office of the Director of National Intelligence
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) is a U.S. federal government agency established to coordinate intelligence activities across the Intelligence Community. In the context of UAP/UFO research, ODNI has played a central coordinating role since 2021, when it acknowledged that Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) are real, though not verified as extraterrestrial in origin. ODNI published a preliminary assessment in June 2021 and has since issued multiple consolidated annual reports on UAP investigations. The office oversees the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which conducts historical reviews of government UFO investigations dating back to 1945 and maintains that no evidence supports extraterrestrial technology or hidden alien programs. ODNI coordinates with the Department of Defense, NASA, and other agencies to standardize UAP reporting and analysis across the federal government.
