Princeton University is a prestigious American academic institution founded in 1746, located in Princeton, New Jersey. As a civilian research university, it conducts advanced scientific research across multiple disciplines. In the context of UAP research, Princeton has been notably involved through its Department of Astrophysical Sciences. David Spergel, former chair of Princeton's astrophysics department and current president of the Simons Foundation, led NASA's 16-member Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Independent Study Team beginning in October 2022. The team developed a scientific roadmap for collecting and analyzing UAP data from government, commercial, and academic sources, with findings published in a public report in 2023. Additionally, astrophysicist Federica Bianco from the University of Delaware's physics and astronomy department served on the panel, bringing expertise in data analysis and technosignatures research.
