U.S. Space Command
The U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM) is a unified combatant command of the U.S. Department of Defense, headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Initially established on September 23, 1985, by President Ronald Reagan to oversee military operations in space, it was disestablished in 2002 and reestablished on August 29, 2019, as the 11th unified combatant command to focus on space deterrence and defense amid growing threats from adversaries.
