Annie Jacobsen

Annie Jacobsen (born June 28, 1967) is an American investigative journalist and author renowned for her work on U.S. military secrets and government programs. A 2016 Pulitzer Prize finalist, she gained prominence with her 2011 book Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base, detailing the base's role in developing spy planes like the U-2 and A-12 Oxcart, CIA handling of UFO sightings, and controversial claims about the Roswell incident as a Soviet hoax involving deformed children as human guinea pigs. The book, based on declassified documents and interviews with pilots like Ken Collins, explores CIA deception strategies amid 1950s UFO hysteria. Her 2017 book Phenomena examines U.S. government investigations into extrasensory perception and psychokinesis. Jacobsen has interviewed key figures in intelligence and maintains UFOs stem from human experiments, not extraterrestrials. Recent works include Nuclear War: A Scenario (2024).
