Col. Richard L. Weaver
Col. Richard L. Weaver is a United States Air Force officer who served as a key investigator in the official U.S. government examination of the 1947 Roswell incident. In 1994, Weaver co-authored the comprehensive Air Force Report on the Roswell Incident with 1st Lt. James McAndrew, conducted at the request of U.S. Congressman Steven Schiff (R-NM). This official investigation examined declassified records and concluded that the debris recovered near Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947 originated from Project Mogul, a classified U.S. Army Air Forces program designed to detect Soviet nuclear detonations. Weaver's work represents a significant contribution to the official historical record of U.S. government involvement with unidentified anomalous phenomena investigations.
