Jackie Gleason (February 26, 1916 – June 24, 1987) was an American entertainer and comedian best known for his roles in the television shows The Honeymooners and The Jackie Gleason Show. Beyond his entertainment career, Gleason was deeply interested in UFOs and the occult, amassing a collection of over 1,700 books on these subjects. In February 1973, he reportedly visited Homestead Air Force Base in Florida at the invitation of President Richard Nixon, where he allegedly witnessed embalmed bodies of four alien beings described as approximately two feet tall with small bald heads and large ears. The experience profoundly affected him, causing a period of depression lasting several weeks. Gleason was sworn to secrecy about the incident, though he later vaguely referenced it in interviews. Upon his death, his extensive UFO and occult book collection was donated to the University of Miami.
