Jim Singleton

Jim Singleton is a British hypnotherapist known for his involvement in UFO research, particularly the Ilkley Moor UFO incident. On 16 March 1988, he conducted a regressive hypnotherapy session on Philip Spencer (pseudonym), a retired police officer who claimed an alien abduction on 1 December 1987 while walking across Ilkley Moor in West Yorkshire. Under Singleton's hypnosis, Spencer's account evolved from spotting a strange figure to a detailed abduction narrative, including a tour of a craft, orbital views, and apocalyptic films shown by aliens—one depicting nuclear disasters and famines, the other undisclosed. Singleton described the recall as 'genuine.' No birth/death years, further publications, or military ties are documented. His role underscores hypnosis in ufology for memory recovery.
