Knud Johan Victor Rasmussen (1879-1933) was a Danish-Inuit polar explorer, anthropologist, and ethnographer renowned for his expeditions across the Arctic. Born in Greenland to a Danish father and Inuit mother, he led the Fifth Thule Expedition (1921-1924), traversing from Greenland to Siberia to document Inuit culture and shamanism. While Rasmussen's work focused on ethnography and pre-aviation Arctic travel, he has no documented involvement in UAP/UFO research, military UFO programs, or related fields. UFO sightings and modern UAP discussions emerged post-WWII, after his death. His accounts of Inuit folklore include spirits and sky phenomena, sometimes misinterpreted in fringe UFO lore as 'ancient astronaut' evidence, but these are mythological, not empirical UFO reports. No publications or testimony link him to UFOs. Primary legacy: Arctic exploration and preservation of Indigenous knowledge.
