Michael Gold
Michael Gold served as NASA Associate Administrator for Space Policy and Partnerships, Acting Associate Administrator for the Office of International and Interagency Relations, and Senior Advisor to the Administrator for International and Legal Affairs. In 2022, the NASA Associate Administrator for the Science Mission Directorate appointed him to serve on the Agency's Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Independent Study Team. He testified before the House Subcommittee on National Security in November 2024 regarding UAP transparency and government accountability, and received the NASA Silver Group Achievement Award for collective efforts to advance understanding of UAP phenomena.
His perspective combined space policy expertise with advocacy for greater openness in addressing UAP phenomena through existing scientific frameworks. Gold's work emphasized establishing norms of behavior for safe and sustainable space development.
