Muriel McClave is a private citizen known primarily as a witness in a notable UFO sighting on May 21, 1966, near Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. While flying as a passenger in a Luscombe aircraft piloted by William C. Powell, they observed a wingless, disc-shaped object approximately 40 feet wide with a dome on top and bright red underside. The UFO executed an abrupt 150-160 degree turn without banking, approached on a collision course, passed their starboard wing at about 100 feet, and vanished southeast. Powell reported the incident to Willow Grove Naval Air Station. This case was investigated by NICAP, highlighted by researcher James E. McDonald in critiques of Project Blue Book explanations, and featured in UFO literature as evidence challenging conventional dismissals like meteors or aircraft.
