Randy Rotenberger
Randy E. Rotenberger, a 12-year-old American boy from Gwinner, North Dakota, is known as a key witness in a prominent 1966 UFO landing case. On September 13, 1966, at 7:30 a.m., while waiting for the school bus outside his family home, he observed flashing lights and a disc-shaped object resembling two bowls joined together, with three pegs on the bottom and antennae on top, descending nearby. Frightened, he alerted his mother, Mrs. Emmanuel Rotenberger, who heard a whirring sound over the phone as it took off. The next day, Randy and two friends found burnt marks and three tapered holes, about one foot in diameter and five inches deep, forming a triangle (sides 22-26 feet). The site was inspected by locals, including Cliff Melroe of Melroe Manufacturing. Investigated by the U.S. Air Force, including Project Blue Book and the Flight Dynamics Laboratory, the case was officially classified as unidentified.
