Remigio Baca

Remigio 'Reme' Baca (born October 1938, San Antonio, New Mexico) is a U.S. citizen known for claiming to witness a UFO crash in August 1945 at age 7 on the Padilla Ranch, alongside Jose Padilla (age 9). They described an avocado-shaped craft with humanoid occupants, debris recovery by soldiers, and souvenir fragments analyzed in Europe. Baca served six years in the Marines during Vietnam, worked as a tax compliance officer for Washington State Department of Revenue, and held executive staff position under Governor Dixy Lee Ray. He presented the story at the 2005 UFO Crash/Retrieval Conference and co-authored 'Born on the Edge of Ground Zero' (2011). Promoted by researchers Paola Harris and Jacques Vallee, the account faces skepticism for inconsistencies, late disclosure (2003), and varying narratives documented by critics like Douglas Johnson and Brian Dunning.
