Sidney Souers

Sidney William Souers (1892-1973) was an American naval officer and intelligence pioneer, born in Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from Miami University in 1914 and Purdue University. Souers served as the first Director of Central Intelligence (DCI) from January to June 1946 under President Truman, and later as Executive Secretary of the National Security Council (1947-1950), shaping U.S. intelligence architecture. In UAP/UFO contexts, his name appears in alleged Majestic 12 (MJ-12) documents from the 1980s, purportedly a secret group formed in 1947 to oversee UFO crash recoveries and alien technology, listed alongside figures like Vannevar Bush and Roscoe Hillenkoetter.
