Telles Ribeiro

Brigadier Telles Ribeiro served as the chief of the Brazilian Air Force's Center for Public Communications. In this role, he led a significant meeting on 20 May 2005 in Brasília with a delegation of ufologists headed by Ademar José Gevaerd. During the session, Brazilian Air Force officials, under Ribeiro's direction, disclosed details on key UFO cases, including the 1954 sighting reported by Varig airline head Nagib Ayub in Rio Grande do Sul, pilots' pursuits of 21 UFOs over São Paulo, São José dos Campos, and Rio de Janeiro in May 1986, and Colonel Uyrangê Hollanda's 1977 investigation in Pará, which revealed 'Operation Saucer,' a secret Air Force UFO project detecting various objects like probes and saucer-shaped craft. These disclosures marked a notable instance of government transparency on UFO matters in Brazil.
