Vickie Landrum
Vickie Landrum (1923–2007) was a devoutly religious Texan who, on 29 December 1980, together with Betty Cash and her grandson Colby near Huffman, Texas, experienced a close encounter with a diamond-shaped UAP. She tried to shield young Colby from the object's intense heat and radiation, initially interpreting the light as a sign from God; all three witnesses subsequently developed burns, nausea and other radiation symptoms. Landrum and Cash later filed suit against the U.S. government, which was dismissed for lack of evidence of state ownership of the object.

For the UAP timeline, Landrum is the co-witness of the Cash–Landrum case — one of the few U.S. cases with documented radiation-like injuries and a formal lawsuit against the government. Her case is the archetype of the "physiological UFO encounter", without which Jim Segala's later research would be unthinkable.
