Walter Moilanion is a private U.S. citizen from Warren, Michigan, with no known birth or death dates. His sole documented involvement in UAP/UFO research stems from August 18, 1958, when he served as a corroborating witness to a significant sighting reported by his neighbor, Alex Donald Chisholm, a 30-year-old business machine mechanic. At approximately 7:05-7:10 pm CDT, Chisholm spotted an extremely bright, motionless 'star' brighter than the Moon at 70-75° elevation, azimuth 300°. Moilanion, alerted by Chisholm, observed it with the naked eye. After 7-8 minutes of hovering, the object moved, appearing as a light gray, Saturn-shaped disc (circular with equatorial ring), estimated at 60 feet in diameter and 75-600 miles altitude. It then vanished rapidly without sound. Chisholm submitted a detailed five-page letter to NICAP. No further achievements, publications, or testimony by Moilanion are recorded in UFO literature.
